News KUSOA Organizes a National Seminar on Media Ethics The Department of Languages and Mass Communication at Kathmandu University (KU) organized a one-day national seminar on "Media Ethics" on March 23, 2014. The seminar brought together a number of distinguished academics, scholars and practicing journalists actively involved in the field, and led to a very engaging discussion a variety of issues pertinent to the topic of media ethics. The day-long seminar was divided into three parts. The inaugural session, chaired by Prof. Dr. Mahesh Banskota, Dean, KUSOA, began with a welcome speech by Dr. Nirmala Mani Adhikari, Coordinator of Media Studies program at KUSOA, which highlighted the theme of the seminar and its relevance. It was followed with addresses by Mr. Borna BahadurKarki, Chairperson of Press Council Nepal, Mr. Shiva Gaunle, President, Federation of Nepali Journalists and Ms. Babita Basnet, Editor, Ghatana ra Bichar weekly and President of Media Advocacy Group....
